desktop icons

i right click on my desktop to aline my icons, but they desapeared. I now can
not right click anymore on the desktop to get my shorcuts back. iv'e tried to
cut and paste and that those not help either. I don't know what to do, can
someone please help me. tks

Right click on the desktop - select "Arrange Icons by"
Select "Show Desktop Icons"
It should be ticked.
