Need some help. When I copy a program icon to the desktop the icon is
viewable on the desktop. When I select the icon I get a message that I am
not authorize or the path is incorrect. The icon is direct from the program
and the path is correct. I am the only user on the computer. How do I get
authorized to create icons? Your help is greatly appreciated!

If I understand you right, you have a icon from an installed program that
you want to launch from the desktop.
If the program is listed on your start tree try right clicking on it and do
a Copy To (Desktop). This will put a shortcut on the desktop. That should do
what you ask.
