desktop icons

Hi,
Any one knows why every time I restart a window 2000 all icons on desktop
are moved back to left side even I moved them to right side of the desktop?
And how to solve this problem?

Move the mouse pointer to a blank area on the desktop and right click.
One of the items is auto arrange (or it may be in a sub-menu, I forget).
Make sure it is NOT checked. Align to grid is OK; this justs keeps
the spacing equal.
