Desktop Icons

Hello friends, my desktop icons are kind of jumpy, I arrange them in a
particular order so that I can conveniently find the ones I use most. But
every time restart my machine they get rearranged. Is there any way for me
to lock down my desktop icons? I am running Windows 2000 Professional with
sp4.

My guess is that you have your desktop Icons set to "Auto
Arrange."

Put your mouse cursor on a vacant place on your desktop
and right click. If there is a check mark to the left of
Arrange Icons > Auto Arrange, then click on it to remove
the check mark. Uncheck any of the other options also if
you don't want Windows to arrange your icons for you.
