When I start-up my Windows XP-Pro OS computer, I get the logon screen, then
the blank desktop. I have to Cntl-Alt-Del to get to the Task Manager window,
where I then click 'New Task' and type in 'Desktop'. Only then will the
desktop Icons display.
(I also get the error message 'Windows cannot find
'/idlist,:0:1792,C:\Documents'. But this is diplayed after the Icons appear.)
Can anyone walk me through gettin my Icon back? Tryed system restore with
no luck. I'm Jammed

I'd say you have something really serious going on. If it was me, I'd
run a chkdisk and do a full defrag. The former in case you've got some
file/disk corruption and the latter because I've seen badly fragmented
disks do some weird stuff. I'd also do the usual search for malware and
viruses, especially because the problem happens at logon and something
nasty may be interfering with the normal logon process.
