Desktop icons are gone again.

When I first boot up, the desktop icons are visible. After the boot up is
complete...my icons are all gone
I then have to right click the task bar and select SHOW THE DESKTOP and all
my icons reappear...BUT
as soon as I select one of the icons on the desktop, the program selected
runs BUT AGAIN all the icons disappear. I again
have to right click the TASKBAR and select SHOW THE DESKTOP
Ihave tried 2 solutions to no avail;
1. I tried BOTH solutions listed below re KELLYS.KORNER, and
2. Tried to RESTORE to the LAST GOOD RESTORE POINT
Nothing has worked so far.
I would appreciate any help to rectify this problem.
Thanks

You are speaking of Taskbar/Toolbars/Desktop not the Desktop/Desktop Icons,
correct? If not, there isn't a right click on the Taskbar/Show the Desktop.
There is; however, a show the desktop in the Quick Launch area. More info
needed.

Kelly,
I have a right click Show the Desktop on the Task Bar.

Hi
In order for the icons to show up on the desktop I have to right click the
TASK bar and select "Show the desktop ". The icons all show up then but as
soon as I click on any of the desktop top icons to run a given program, the
icons all disappear again. To view the icon I must again right click the
TASK bar and select "SHOW the desktop"
Any help would be appreciatedd
Thanks
