Desktop Icon/System Tray

I have two general questions. A while ago, I deleted
my "Show Desktop" icon on my desktop. I've long since
cleared it out of my recycle bin. I did it because I
didn't think I needed it, because there was a similar icon
among my quickstart icons to the right of the Start Bar.
Little did I know that this shortcut was linked to the
desktop icon, so after I deleted the latter the former
became unusable. How do I recreate the Desktop Icon and
get it back on my desktop, and among my quick launch icons
(I hope that is their correct name).

My second question is, how do I manage icons in my system
tray? There are a bunch that I don't use, and I'd like to
make it so that they don't load as soon as Windows starts.

--------------------------------------------------------------
Open Notepad and enter the following text:

[Shell]
Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop

Save the new file as Show Desktop.scf
then drag and drop the icon on the Quick Launch bar
or whatever location you want the shortcut to appear.
