Just picked up a Dell 1505 laptop. It sports a lower resolution display than
our Dell 1705. Still, I can't find a setting that will let me reduce the
size of the desktop icons. The three options are standard, large and larger,
but the standard size option is still very large. The display resolution is
set to the native resolution of the display. Any suggestions?

To resize your desktop icons, hold down the CTRL key while you rotate the mouse
wheel.

Click on the desktop, hold the control key and roll the roller on your
mouse. You can set the icons to whatever size you want, and you can go
smaller then "classic". Looks to me like it goes all the way down to 16x16.
