Desktop Folders Get Their Views Changed Somehow

I have kinda a weird problem going on with my XP (Pro). It seems that
the folders I have on my desktop get their views changed to details, and
the folder pops up maximized. I have set the folders to windows classic
view and I normally use icons as the default view. I have also tried
setting the views under Windows File Explorer, and although they will
stay that way in explorer, they will go back to detail view on the
desktop.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Tim,

WindowsXP will remember the settings of up to 400 folders, after that it
starts forgetting some. See this from MVP Kelly for a way to increase this
number:

Line 2, increase the folder view size limit to 8000

Thanks ever so much! It worked. It has been over a day now and the views
are still the way I set them. Quite the collections of fixes on that
site too.
