Somehow i've managed to cause my desktop whenever it cues up to cue up on its
side rather than its normal format. How do I get it back to normal format?
Thanks

What does "cue up on its side" mean?

Do you mean that the screen image has been rotated so that is
sideways? If so, read on:

The ability to rotate the screen image is a feature of your video
card, to help it work with monitors that rotate to portrait
orientation. You accidentally pressed Ctrl-Alt, and some arrow key.
Rotate it back using those keys.

....or if you mean that the bar most of us expect to be at the bottom of the
screen is now at the side, just make sure that it is unlocked and then
click-drag on an empty space and move it where you want it. It is normally
at the bottom but can exist at either side or at the top.
