Desktop Background Color

Does anyone know how to turn off the background color on
the desktop. I change change color, but I can't pick "no
color". I don't want the description under the descktop
icons to be as solid color, I just want the text (like
the older style windows desktop). I don't want to go
back to the old desktop style just to get rid of the
solid boxes.

hi Chris,

If I understand correctly, you want to get rid of the
solid box around the text on the desktop icon. From what
I read from a few MVP`s. you right click on my computer,
select properties, click on advance tab, then click
performance settings button. Then in Visual Effects,
select custom and check the box "Use drop shadows fro icon
labels on the desktop"
