Desktop Background Annoyance

R

Rene Gnam

I'm using Win32Sys on an XP Pro desktop from Sys
Technologies and it runs fine...but...

The beautiful Azul background for the desktop has a
rectangular box under each icon name. I can change the
color of the boxes, but I want to eliminate them so the
text is viewed on top of the Azul photo itself.

I tried Start, Settings, Control Panel, System, Advanced,
Performance area, Settings button, Visual Effects tab,
Scroll down and checked - "Use drop shadows for icon
labels on the Desktop" and apply. No help.

So I unchecked that box and rebooted. No difference. Then
I checked it again and rebooted. No difference.

Vexing! No problem with performance, just a bunch of boxes
glaring at me.

Does anyone have a clue as to how a non-programmer like me
can remove those rectangular boxes? Please respond via e-
mail if it's more comfortable for you. Thanks a bunch.

What is "Win32Sys"? If this is a program that is causing interference
with XP's normal behavior (and it sounds like it is), then either
uninstall it or contact the software mftr.'s tech support.

Malke...

Win32 is the Operating System! I typed it as Win32Sys as a
sort of shorthand, meaning "The system is Windows 32."

Try right clicking on your desktop, select "Arrange Icons By", and make sure
there is NOT a check mark next to "Lock Web Items on Desktop". Hope that
helps.

Thank you, Paul.

No, it is NOT checked.

I'll try any other suggestions you might have. Thanks a
bunch.
