How can I get rid ot the one desktop background that
comes on before my user name; because I have that one and
another one that is my desktop after my username is
entered?

You've set a wallpaper that doesn't use Active Desktop
and one that does. Active Desktop replaces the default
desktop.
==================================
Open notepad and create the following
file:

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_USER\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop]
"Wallpaper"="C:\\windows\\dell.bmp"

Then save it as file.reg

here is how you did this to yourself.
====================================
select desktop background
[apply] button

select different background (temporary)
[apply] button

select original background
[ok] button

temporary background is the flash one.
you might try selecting same background and pressing
apply three times.

i think this is real neat ....i have peanuts gang
snoopy c.brown etc as temporary bg.

pleae don't have microsoft fix this.....

Are these animated backgrounds? don't these take up a lot of resources? How
do you get these and get them to work? Thanks.

has monthly background that is animated.
includes static calendar and things you can move
and sound....check them out.
they are real neat.
