Outlook Express 2003 with latest updates does not work "Desktop Alert" for
new mail. After the set up I am able to see the preview but when I received
new mails it does not work. Looking for your help.

IS a rule applied to those emails to move them to a different folder?
If there is a rule in place you need to add the action to the rule to show
the alert. Even if a rule isn't in place you can see if creating one for
your default inbox to show the alert for all email is more consistent.

It is at full screen and regarding to folder I did not change the default
setting. My e-mail account is webmail (MSN).

Webmail, by definition, is mail you read or send using a web browser.
Accessing MSN with Outlook is not webmail. As Bill says, though, HTTP
accounts do not trigger the desktop alert, with one exception. If you're
using Outlook Live with a Hotmail Premium account and the Outlook
Connnector, your Hotmail can be your delivery location and then Outlook will
operate on it as it would with an Exchange account.

My account is an old MSN ordinary account and I am able to use Outlook
Express and Outlook 2003. I think HTTP account could be the appropriate word
for this account type.

Thank you for the replies.
