Desk Top[

A friend is running XP Home. When she boot up, the Desktop loads ok, but
there is a horizontal "Band" running across the top of the screen with her My
Documents and a list of the files in My documents.

This band prevents the desktop from reaching the top of the screen.

How do I get rid of this band?

Hello,

It sounds like a "My Documents" toolbar has been created and locked to the
top of the display. Just right-click on the toolbar and select "Close
Toolbar". A warning may come up asking if you want to close it - just click
OK.
