Why is my 2 decimal place formatting for a number field in Access not being
applied when I view the database? Still getting to 8 decimal places.
Numbers cannot be formatted to 2 decimals in Excel either.

Well, what do you mean "when I view the database"? Are you viewing your
data in a form, report, or query? If a form or report, simply apply
formatting and set decimal places to the number in the control's property
box.

First place I'd look is your formatting.

How about posting an example?
