Designing a check template

I am trying to make a template with our check so we can print checks through
our printer. I changed the paper size, and I am trying to get the check
background on the screen, but not print. I have tried backgrounds and
watermarks, but nothing works. Any help? Thanks!!

You can set up a form, using the check background as desired, then having
the data fields be all that gets printed. In Word 2003 or earlier, choose
Tools - Options - Print,and tick the Print data only for forms option. (In
Word 2007, it's in Word Options, Advanced, When printing this document).

Press F1 and search for "forms" for information on how to set up a form.
