Hi

When I added a shortcut to the desktop folder it did work but the icon is
not the icon of the application is there a way to change that

Have you specified an Icon in the Properties Window of the shortcut?

It is not obvious because it only allows to browse for files in the project
and the icon is not in the project, I did however, changed the filter of the
open file dialog and it allowed me to use the icon of the application (or
possibly any file)
