Deployment/Image Software

I am in charge of an organization that has about 50 workstation and laptops,
due to there being multiple types of Dell Desktops and Laptops creating
master images is not a feasible plan (also people require different software
sets). I need a program that can "freeze" a portion of the drive and on
command I would like to be able to tell that workstation to revert to that
configuration. So if an employee calls up saying the have a virus (this
solution needs to be able to protect CMOS, master boot records, etc), or
there computer is slow, I can send a command to the computer that reverts to
its original "fresh xp" image with all of their apps in the original state.
Also, laptop users often work from home and don't have VPN access, so they
can't save to network drives, and end up saving to the desktop. So the
solution can't be something that happens on every reboot, and if it does,
then I need some way to protect the laptop user files.

Is there a solution for this?
Thanks
