Was running XP Home. Purchased an XP Pro upgrade. Everything went fine but on
completion of upgrade received The instruction 0x7726381c referenced memory
at 0x00000000. Clicked OK and now cannot validate windows nor access
microsoft websites using IE7 as message the requested lookup key cannot be
found in any active activation context. When trying to contact microsoft help
support message is receives an application error in MSOOBE.EXE. Bottom line,
the help support indicates that the software is not genuine but both the
original XP home and the new XP Pro upgrade are totally legit. Can anybody
please help?

After 4 hours with MS support - REMOVE IE7 then the activation
portion will work.

Thanks for the response. Have uninstalled the 'hidden folder', taken IE back
to version 6 and as you confirmed, windows can be activated.
