Deleting ".tmp" files (again)

T

Tim

This came from HP as part of a "fix".
Step 2: Delete unnecessary temporary files and folders
from the computer.

NOTE: Delete temporary files carefully to ensure
that necessary files are not deleted. All temporary files
use the extension ".tmp". If you are unsure about
selecting the proper temporary files for deletion, contact
Microsoft Windows Technical Support for assistance.

Could you tell me which files I need to keep?
Thanks,
Tim

You may delete any .tmp file, or others, from the temp folder. If the file
is currently in use, it will not be deleted. You will get a warning message
instead. Many programs deposited temporary files that should be cleaned up
when you exit the program. Unfortunately, some programs are poorly coded and
do not clean up after themselves properly. It is up to you to do the follow
up upon occasion.
