Deleting the minidump file

Willl it be a problem if I get rid of the .dmp file on my
server? It's over 1GB and taking up a lot of uneccessary
space

It's completely safe to delete. It's a file that is created when fatal
errors occur, the file can be used for trouble shooting and debugging
purposes. The question to be asked is "Why is the file so large?"
Usually a dump log is about 64k. For this file to have grown to more
than 1 gig may be a sign that something is definitely not healthy on the
server, something to investigate there.
