Crashing

Paul

Hi,

I have just upgraded my Windows 2000 PC from service pack 2 to service pack
4. Since I have done this I have found that my computer has been crashing
quite a lot, compared with not at all.

It does not display a blue screen, but the screen goes all funny like
changing the screen resolution not successfully. It gives the windows
default blue background with nothing else on screen, then it reboots.

It seems to be random as it happens before and after the login screen, when
sitting idle.

I have looked in the event log and it gives the following information:

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck.
The bugcheck was: 0x00000050 (0xa8c07a04, 0x00000000, 0x804a7478,

I have not seen this kind of thing happen before, especially where I have
upgraded lots of PC's to SP4 without any issues.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

You have quite a few 0x0000000a errors which will probably be because of
an out of date driver on your system.

Go through all the devices and update the drivers, if your system is
using the VIA chipset ensure you get the latest 4in1 driver set.
