You can find the /Temp folder and delete them yourself if you prefer.

1. using the disk clean-up weekly is not recommended and useless. When
using it so frequently you could increase the disk fragmentation because the
files are deleted then created, then deleted, then created, etc.
2. disk clean-up removes only the files older than 10 days. This is for
safety because some programs could still use them.

thank you. i did try deleting the temporary files from the temp folder as
byron suggested. that worked, but i still show 204 kb of temporary files on
the disk clean up screen. it just leaves me scratching my head. my desktop
shows 0 bytes of temporary files. my laptop, however still shows the 204 kb.
do you know why it would show that? and is there a way to get rid of these
mysterious temporary files? thank you again for the information on disk
clean up.

Defragging weekly, for almost everyone, is way overkill. Disk cleanup
usually isn't needed weekly either, but since it's quick and easy to
do, there's little harm in it.

Don't worry about them.

There are almost always temp files you can't delete because they are
in use. If any fail to delete because they're in use, they'll either
be deleted automatically when the app using them closes, or you'll get
them the next time you run disk cleanup.

i really don't worry about them. the same 204 kb have been showing up for
months. they never go away. it's odd and i was searching for an answer
and/or solution. thanks.

Temporary Internet files are even larger and tougher to get rid of : running
Vista Enterprise, my temporary Internet files contain a huge (2.5 GB) folder
named Virtualized, that cannot be seen with explorer (I spotted it using the
TreeSize utility). It is not seen by the disk cleaner either. Anyone knows
what this Virtualized folder is for? And how to get rid of it (2.5 GB is a
lot of space...)?
