deleting registry entry

I have been doing some spring cleanup and had an old trial download of Adobe
Premiere 1.5 which I tried some time ago and decided that it was not for
me. The problem is that when I try to remove it via add remove instead of
removing the program it started installing it again and at first I thought
to let it install and then I can run the uninstall however every time I
attempt to uninstall it installs again! So I manually searched and deleted
all entries pointing to Premiere. I cleaned the registry as well however
there are 3 entries which I am unable to delete.

I get the following error:
Cannot delete premiere pro:Error while deleting the key

I have checked the permissions and everything is in order, tried in safe
mode as well with the same results I and also searched the Adobe site but
could not find an answer. for the life of me I do not know why these keys
are so stubborn! Anyone has any suggestions?
Thanks

Take Ownership of the key from the Permissions properties
(Permissions/Advanced button/Owner tab), then make sure you set yourself to
Full Control on the main Security tab. You should then be able to modify or
delete the key.
If the key you are attempting to delete has sub-keys, you may need to repeat
part of the procedure with them as well ("Replace owner on sub containers
and objects" from the Owner tab will not necessarily change the Control
behavior for sub-keys).

Quite a few trial programs write null embedded characters into the registry to stop you
re-installing the software after the trial period is over. You will never be able to delete them
using Windows tools.

Go to Sysinternals and download RegDelNull, written by Mark Russinovich.

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/Miscellaneous/RegDelNull.mspx

This will scan your registry branches and offer to delete any keys with null characters that it
finds.

I do appreciate your help. The culprit was a sub key and that was real
strange because trying to change the permissions was getting an error that
the "Default preset cannot be opened. An Error is preventing this key from
being opened. Details access is denied"
Well, after trying everything almost as a joke I changed the permissions to
my wife's user profile (and she is not even an administrator) and that did
it!
