I too am having the same problem. I have right clicked until I am blue in
the face. This is a new problem with Windows Mail that I havent encountered.
My computer is 3 months old, and never did I have so many problems with
Outlook over many many years. Help. My messages to delete are also growning
and growing.

Give a step-by-step account of what happens when you try to delete a message
from you "Deleted Items Fold"

If any message can't be moved or deleted, apply this Microsoft fix:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/941090

Although that article only mentions Outbox, it works for all mail folders.

Incidentally, that fix was also included in Vista's SP1, so if you haven't
installed that, you are way overdue, and you should install the Service Pack
rather than the fix.

I go to yhr deleted items folder, right click, box comes up are you sure you
want to delete these messages, I click yes, it closes. The deleted messages,
all 485 of them are still there. I can close the windows mail, close the
computer. Restart the computer, and windows mail, the messages are still
there.
I can go to the edit, and hit delete all deleted messages, and still no
luck. This is a new problem, that commenced about 2 weeks ago

Although I had all updates installed, I even went back and double checked...I
had SP1. This evening SP2 installed and that finally fixed the email
problem. I installed that before I followed your suggestion, but that was the
next step. Thanks for the help, until next time Vista gives me a problem.
This computer is only 2 months old, so hopefully things will improve.

Good to hear that installing SP2 fixed the problem.
