Deleting Files

Using MS WIN XP Home edition, running Norton AV 2004. According to Norton,
no virus. My D: drive is unavailable from My Computer. It has in excess of
600,000 1KB files, that are bogus. How can I delete them. I can search and
delete in batches of 5 or 6,000 at a time, but would like a faster method,
other than reformatting.
