Deleting Files.... Acess Denied

Hi.
We had to change the Domain on our microsoft exchange server. Our main
database will no longer work. We backed up all the files and we want
to remove the old folder and re-install it. No matter how I try to
delete the files and the folder, I cant! I tried using the command
prompt. I logged on as the Administrator to the local machine, and
still no luck.
Using Windows Explorer, I right-clicked on the folder/directory
containing
the problem files, I selected Properties|Security|Advanced. I
enabled/checked "Allow inheritable permissions from parent to
propagate to this object". I Enabled (checked) "Reset permissions on
all
child objects and enable propagation of inheritable permissions" and
then "Apply". A Security box advised about propagation of
inheritable permissions to child objects. I Continued with "Yes".
Windows was unable to do anything with the filles. I keep getting the
same error....Access Denied. None of the files are TSR files. I
repeatedly restarted the machine to make sure they weren't in use. I
even tried removing the lan cable and logged into the machine as the
administrator for that machine. Any advise on how I can delete these
files?

Thanks
Pat

Sometimes it helps to be in safe mode, otherwise you may need to logon as
local administrator and first take ownership being sure to check replace on
subfolders and objects also. Then you can give yourself full permissions and
try again. The article below may help even though it is for XP it is the
same for W2K. The second link is for more advanced techniques for more
severe problems but I think it may be an ownership issue. --- Steve
