deleting excess drives -renaming remaing one drive C

I tried to load a back of Norton Ghost. It blocked my
operating system. Rebooted at least 3 or 4 times to
install windows. Now have 2 extra drives. Want to
rename the default E to C. Remove C and D so I can down
load upport service packs. They default to C - not
enough room and cancel the download.
 
Relettering partitions that are the boot or system
is, in general, very difficult when possible, and
more often effectively impossible.
