Hello,

Well Vista takes any partition that it is installed on to be its "system
drive" and automatically gives it the label of Local Disk C drive. That's
just how Microsoft built it. So in a Dual boot environment where you have
two operating systems, one Operating System, for example XP might call it
the E drive, where as when you boot into Vista it is called the C drive and
the XP drive is called the E drive. There is need to change the drive
letters, unless you really have to, and the system drive cannot be changed
once the operating system is running.

You can't change the letter assigned to the system or boot partition. You
can reinstall your other system if it is a Windows system, and if you have
your drives are set up properly XP will reenumerate itself. If you install
Vista from within XP, Vista will not assign itself as C, but will retain the
XP enumeration.
