Deleting an offline printer

Hello,

I'm using a Windows XP Pro SP2 notebook and trying to delete a network Dymo
label printer but having problems. The printer has been offline last week
physically out of the office and now on a notebook it is stuck in an
deleting-offline status.
I know there is a KB article on how to delete this but cannot think of what
article # it is.
Please assist.

Stop the print spooler first. From the command prompt, type

net stop spooler

Thanks but when I stop the spooler I get the following error when I try to
delete the printer.

PRINTER CANNOT BE REMOVED. THE PRINT SPOOLER SVC IS NOT RUNNING.
