deleting a local printer on a standard tcp/ip port

Printers that are directly connected to the network are added as local
printers using a standard tcp/ip port. I added one using the wrong
drivers and tried to delete it, upon realizing that I had made this
mistake, and am unable to do so. It's status, in the Printers and
Faxes page is "Deleting". I tried rebooting the computer and when I
went back into it, it still said "Deleting".

I tried viewing that printers properties, clicked on the Ports tab, and
tried to delete this newly added port, but when I try to do so, I get a
"The requested resource is in use.". I assume this is because Windows
thinks the printer is in the process of being deleted, even though it
can't ever seem to actually delete this printer.

Any ideas as to how this problem can be resolved? Thanks!

Try stopping the Print Spooler service and restarting it.
Start>Run>services.msc [enter]
