Deleting a file in use

I have a file on my desktop that I can't delete. I have tried starting up in safe mode but I still can't delete it. What else can I do? Please help.

Just do ctrl+Alt+Del,you will get the taskmanager--click on process tab and look for the process running there which depicts the process of this particular file and just close it and than delete it.
