deleted taskmon.exe

Hello...
I'm using Window XP home edition. Because of the MyDoom
virus attack I accidentally deleted taskmon.exe straight
from the windows folder. Can someone tell me what that
will do to my computer? I haven't seen anything unusual
yet. Can I restore it somehow?

Taskmon (as opposed to Taskman) is itself a part of the virus and you
do *not* want it. Taskman.exe is the task manager program, and ought to
be in windows\system32 - not windows.

Start - Run and run MSConfig.exe, On the Startup page look for a line
with Taskmon and uncheck it. Close - don't bother to reboot, but when
you do there will be a message about 'Troubleshooting'. Check the 'Do
not show again' and Exit
