WindowsXP does not require either file to operate. Sometimes, older
software will require an entry in one or the other, and windows will
generally recognize the new entry on the next boot.

As far as restoring the files, they would be unique to your machind and
it's configuration of hardware and software. You cannot copy it from
"somewhere" or "someone".
If your system needed either one, it would be there. I assume you can boot
and windows runds fine, since you can use msconfig.

Again, these files are NOT necessary.

WindowsXP uses NTloadr and boot.ini
