Deleted Administrator Account

If someone could help, I would be very grateful. I think
my administrator account was deleted from Windows XP even
though I thought that was not possible. Is there a way
to create a new administrator (my current login does not
allow this as it does not have sufficient priveledges) or
restore so that I have administrator priveledges once
again. Thanks.

You can still reach the administrator by booting the
system in "safe" mode. You can do this at bootup or
use "msconfig".
run> msconfig

select the boot.ini tab

select the "safe" radio button

click OK

click restart....system will boot in safe mode and provide
the deafult administrator account and any other user that
you have defined as an administrator.

See Doug Knox's website at DougKnox.com for a utility that
should put the administrator account on the logon screen
if you would like.

Additionally, for XP Pro, you can press CTRL-ALT-DEL twice at the Welcome
Screen, with no users logged in. You'll get the old Win2K style logon
dialog. Enter Administrator and any password for that account.

To enable the Administrator account on the new Windows XP logon screen,
visit my web site, www.dougknox.com and go to the Windows XP section.
Follow the link for Enable Administrator Account ......
