delete Win98 after I installed XP

When i installed xp it gave me the option to keep windows98. Now I would like to free up some disk spasce by removing the Windows98 files. How do I do it?

Thanks, but it is not there. When I boot the system up it briefly asks me which version of windows to load. So I know I still have both operating programs on my hard drive. Dang, if I can figure out where it is though. help!

Hi,

Oh, ok, so you didn't upgrade, you created a dual boot. It's fairly easy to
remove. Boot WinXP, open Windows Explorer, delete the Win98 system folders
(probably on C:\).

Click start/run, type "C:\boot.ini" (without the quotes) and click ok. This
will open it in notepad where you can remove the line that references the
Win98 system from the [operating systems] section.

Downside here is that you should never format C:\, as that is where the boot
files are, regardless of where WinXP itself is. You would have to work from
the Recovery Console if you do.

In Control Panel - Add/Remove programs look for 'Uninstall Windows'. If
you take it, there is a option to remove the backup files instead
