Delete Local Area Connection

Is there a way to remove local area connection WITHOUT deinstalling or
desactivating the correspondant network card ?

Harry, click Start, Control Panel, Network and Internet Connections, Network
Connections. Then left click on the LAN connection to highlight it and in
the left window pane under Network Tasks click Disable this network device.
