Delete function

When editing text after selecting a portion of text and
hitting the delete button the text is not deleted but
rather a question Delete text[no] yes is displayed. The
only way to delete selected text is to select the text and
hit control-x. Any suggestions where the problem is?

Tools>Options>General tab and uncheck the WordPerfect
options.
