Delete autocomplete choices?

How do I get rid of misspelled autocomplete choices (firefox and IE)?

Once I get a site spelled right, for example, I don't want the
other attempts there offering themselves again each time I come close.

On the internet, nobody knows you're a jerk.

IE = AutoComplete Turn OFF:
1= Click start >> Control Panel >> Double Click Network and Internet
Connections >> Double click Internet Options, on the IE Properties window
you will see these Options:
General | Security | Privacy | Content | Connections | Programs
| Advanced .

Click on Content Tab, then click AutoComplete button, there try to uncheck
these Boxes:

[ ] Web addresses
[ ] Forms
[ ] users names and passwords

[ Clear forms ] [ Clear passwords... ]

The FireFox;

Click tools >> Internet options, click Privacy tab and uncheck these boxes:
History:
[ ] Remember Visited pages for the last [ 10 ] days;
[ ] Remember what I enter in forms and the search bar
[ ] Remember what I've downloaded

Click [OK] after doing your changes.
HTH.
Let us know.

Right idea, but I like autocomplete ; I just want to get rid of some of
its saved choices. Like select it and hit delete, but that doesn't work.

On the internet, nobody knows you're a jerk.

Reduce the number of days to 0 or One and click on Advanced and scroll down
under security and check the box for:
[ ] empty the Temp on exit.

Also the Inline Autocomplete under browsing be sure that unchecked.

In Firefox, simply highlight the offending entry in the dropdown list, hit
DELETE key.

There's a similar method for IE, but it takes a key combination that eludes
me at the moment. I seldom use IE any more.
