delete an object within clip art

I know there is a way, but cannot remember or find the right commands, to
delete objects within a piece of clip art. I have tried a number of the
self-help methods and am coming up short. Any help?

Before you edit clip art you need to ungroup it.

Select the clipart
Draw menu (bottom left)
then ungroup
