To delete a printer
[[To delete a printer, you must have the Manage Printers permission, which
is one of several printer permissions.

Open Printers and Faxes.
Right-click the printer you want to delete.
Click Delete.
If prompted whether you are sure you want to delete the printer, click Yes.

Notes
To open Printers and Faxes, click Start, point to Settings, click Control
Panel, and then double-click Printers and Faxes.
You can also delete a printer in Printers and Faxes by clicking the printer,
and then clicking Delete this printer under Tasks on the left side of the
window. This option is available only if folders are set to look like a Web
page and a printer is selected.]]

Is the printer cable unplugged?

Nothing happened?

No error message(s)?

Look in the Event Viewer for any printer related events. Look under System
and/or Application.

To open the Event Viewer...
Start | Run | Type: eventvwr | OK

For any Events that seem related to the problem...

Double click the event in Event Viewer | Click: the button below the second
arrow (looks like two pages) [[Copies the details of the event to the

Ron,

This Event is a clue.

[[Printer HP DeskJet 720C is pending deletion.]]

Are there any print jobs pending for HP DeskJet 720C? Cancel them.

Reboot. And see if HP DeskJet 720C is gone.
