Delayed Write Failed

I have rec'd the error message "Delayed Write Failed" when
booting. I cannot get on in any mode. KB 812937 says "
In Registry Editor, locate the following subkey in the
registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet
\Services\LanmanServer\Parameters " or contact them for a
fix.

I cannot log in to edit the registry and I contacted
Microsoft who said to take the machine back to where we
purchased it.

Anyone know how to solve this. I cannot take the computer
back until next wed.

If this is a new machine still under warranty, wait until next Wednesday
and take it back. Hardware problems will not heal themselves.
