Delay in typing etc

Hi, I have a dell dimension 8300 with 1g of ram; I have up to dat
norton anti virus and up to date adware & spybot programs. My proble
is that there is a delay when I type (it's happening now) or a dela
when I scroll down a page. I have 63 processes running, is this
problem, do I need them all?

Any help would be appreciated,

The number of running processes is meaningless. What matters is what
those processes are doing.
