Defrag wont work...

When trying to defrag a window pops up, telling me I must
run scandisk /f. I have a C: & D: drive and defrag works
fine on it. I am running Norton AV Auto protect but have
nothing scheduled. Even autoupdates are turned off. It's
driving me crazy.

Nothing special or new but it started it like 2 weeks ago.

What's wrong with this picture. Below you say that defrag tells you
to run Scandisk and then say "defrag works fine." Those two
statements seem contradictory.

Not to condradict but look at how I said it. It works just
like I said.

I have checked the properties of the defrag shortcut but
its correct as it works on the D: drive.

Going to the cmd prompt doesn't allow scandisk

Anything usefull to add?

Correction punctuation would be the key.

Dear Peaceboy,

There is no scandisk in Win 2000. Try chkdsk c: /f.

That might work for you.
