Definition Update 1.14.1410.10 for BETA Windows Defender (KB915597) The
update keeps showing that I have not installed it when I know that I have.

1) Can you go to Help, About, and see if the Windows Defender version (top
number) is 1.1.1347.0?

If not, go to the download center:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...e7-da2b-4a6a-afa4-f7f14e605a0d&displaylang=en


and download and run the installer for the newer code?

Then try updating.

If that fails, please try this KB article:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/918355/en-us

If the steps in the KB fail, write back here--there are other things to try.

I downloaded the version that you recommended and it totally fixed my
problem. I now have 4 other computers to fix that have the same problem.

This is not by design, definitely--but if it works.....do it!
(i.e. Microsoft didn't intentionally break updates in this way, but this fix
seems to work for some.)

For me, already on the newer code version, I still had trouble with the
last update.
