Defender updates

Click on Defender Help, Check for Updates, with the end result message being
"No new definitions or updates are available." Last definitions update dated
18jan07 (4 days ago), with all details as listed in Engel's post in this
discussion group.

Now that Defender is a final product, how often will it update now?
Are there any known issues re the update engine/process? (Engel's messages)

Windows Defender definitions have come out, on average, slightly more
frequently than once a week--most frequently, once a week.

I think that was just a slip of Engel's fingers on the keyboard, and that
he'd intended to say that it's updated 'at least' once a week.

Yes I thought so as well because sometimes I receive updates twice a
week and engel's links are very useful for offline installations.

Hi Engel,
Thanks your reply. In fact, have noticed your latest defs. update in this
group. Have checked my Defender whilst I'm writing this post, and it is the
version that has been installed. So, I guess, all's well. Good! Cheers!
