Defender fails to remove Adware-Qoologic

On a Win2K machine, Defender comes up with Adware-Qoologic as a severe
threat. It offers to remove and requests a reboot. This does not remove the
threat, however. Event Log gives me code 0x80508022.

Any ideas?

Try to remove with Ewido.

I do not think Windows Defender will be able to remove the latest Qoologic
as its hooked to explorer.exe and userinit.exe , You could try a scan in safe
mode but I doubt it will work, Im not beta testing Defender so I cannot
comment on that but if you still have problems post a HijackThis log on a
support site such as SpywareInfo, Auhma, Spybot S&D's forum, Lavasoft's
forum, Ccleaner's Forum, Castlecops, TomCoyote etc.. and they will be able to
get the machine cleaned up using the correct tools. Only post the log on one
site though as the volunteers are always very busy but they will be able to
give you some expert advise.
