Trojan.winsync

Something new started popping up on my computer a week ago, AntiSpyware
reports it as Trojan.winsync. It came up at what seemed like random times and
AntiSpyware always removed it. The first time another threat was also
detected, Adware-Qoologic. Each time AntiSpyware seems to successfully remove
it, but it comes back.

What it now looks like it has tied itself to the Control Panel. The trojan
is activated each time the Control Panel is opened. It hink I tracked it down
to c:\windows\system32\wuauclt.dll. Window has this files loaded in memory
at startup? cause I can not remove it.

Has anyone else come across this?

Hello Mike,

Try:
http://castlecops.com/t137442-CCSP_Ewido_Install_and_Scan_Instructions.html

Also, get HijackThis.exe from
http://tomcoyote.org/hjt/hjt199//HijackThis.exe
http://computercops.biz/HijackThis.html

Save it to C:\hjt (new folder) then Open it and select Scan and Save Log.
Note where you saved the log then send it to him as an attachment. Put
Hijack in the subject so he'll know it's not spªm.

Alternatively you can post it on the Dell Forum ªt:

http://forums.us.dell.com/supportforums/board?board.id=si_hijack

(if it wraps you can go tº:

http://tinyurl.com/ckuzq instead.)

Put Ron in the subject so he will see it. You do not need to have a Dell to
post but you will need to register.

Good luck
