Defaulting Windows Theme to Classic after Deployment

We are migrating computers from Windows 2000 to Windows XP via a WIM image
using BDD. This process saves the users profile off and restores it after
the machine is imaged.

The profile comes over fine but when the user logs in the desktop after
deployment their theme is set to the XP Theme. Our users want it defaulted
to Classic Mode instead.

Default Profile has no effect because the users old profile exists on the
computer. Cant use AD Group Policy because then the users that wanted to
change it couldn't.

I have been trying to figure out a way to write a script that runs on first
logon to set the default theme but cant figure it out.

Does anyone have any ideas??

Depends if you just want the theme, or also the classic startmenu, etc. If
just the theme, then stopping the themes service will achieve that, and
speed-up the machine a bit too.

We just want to set the theme to classic. However, we want the user to be
able to change it from clasic to whatever they want after that.
